Kaonashi Mask

Last sunday i saterted making my kaonashi or "no face" mask from spirited away, its not finished yet but i painted it cuz i wanted to se how it looks with the eyes and motuch and stuff, but the texture of the paper is just to ugly so im really thinking about putting a layer of somethink to make it soft and with out that texture it has right now, i still dont know what material i could use, ill have te investigate about that, but here it is :3.

trying to stay positive

I've always try to stay out of trouble and stuff that are not cool, i try not to get into fight with people that i know or that i dont, because its just not my thing, so i just dont .... but today i had to have this encounter with a guy from a groups in facebook, a local group were you can sell and buy stuff, and i post publicity of my bussines there... so this guy starts attacking me for no reason i try to like shut the guy up, but then he started attacking me in a personal level, saying that anime was bad for my mind and that we are not in japan,about my hair but in a very mean way (obviously an anime hater, or just a hater of diferent people). i was getting kinda nervious cuz like i say im just not good with this kinda thing, i was feeling kinda bad cuz im not use to this things were people say bad things about me. the guy stoped saying stuff and some friends comented things to the guy and well thats all. it took me like an hour to just feel ok again, at firts his words were getting in to me, but i just coulndt let that happend, i had to be strong and do something else to distract my mind from such nonsense.

Theres just to much haters in the web, and i know that everyone have the right to expres them selfs, but if you are gonna say something mean to some one that has done nothing wrong to you or anybody, why does this person has to do that. this really makes me think about some stuff, everything happends for a reason and you learn something about it, because i use to be such a hater and say things to people (not a lot but i did long ago) and i think today was my turn to be at the other side, to be me the one that got attacked by some one and it doesnt feel good, but well i didnt say things like this to people i didnt know on chat rooms. but what ever the best way to deal with this kind of people is just not paying attention to those people, because what they whant is that you get angry.

so if this blog has anything important or what ever if anybody ever reads it, dont feel bad about what this kind of people say, at the end i realised that this guy is just a jerk and knows nothing about me and my work, so screw him, i have better things to do and think about, and well i think thats how its best to deal with them just ignore them, thats all, and if they just wont stop, there has to be a away were ypu can stop it by telling the adm. of the group (in my case) or what ever you have to do that at the end that person just stops, because it can really make you feel bad to have some one with such a bad vibe around saying stupid things.

So today i finally desided to make the drawing i was planing to do of  grav3yardgirl, for those who dont know who she is, she is a youtube vlogger that i have been watching for about 5 months and i just adore her, she is so funny and freaky and i just like to watch her videos.she talks about makeup and fashion in her very personal and original way, in some of her videos she talks about antiques, weird stuff, just a lot of cool stuff. so i uploaded the drawing of her in a tim burton style (she is a fan of his work to), and she said that she loved it and thanks and stuff... and reblogged it!, so a bunch of people are liking and reblogging my drawing, and its kinda exiting XD. its the second illustration i make that people like and that it has been reblogged by some one "famous" on the internet, the first one is the fan art that i made for my friends tumblr about the game "the last of us", the girl that makes the voice in the game for the character "ellie" reblogged my illustration, omg i was so exited. and i know this isnt a big deal, a lot of people do cool stuff and are tumblr famous or what ever, but it just makes me happy, i need this kinda thing once in awhile to cheer me up :3.

painting mood but not inspired... can that be possible?

I've been working on my painting and illustration stuff for my bussines, and im in this painting mood that i get kinda inspired  by some images and themes but i just dont know why i cant reach that state were im like ok lets paint right now! i have 3 canvas and i dont know if its because im like "no airisu save them for work" but i just cant paint anything, i think its kinda confusing XD.

Well first i wanted to paint some koi fish in a pond and i made the sketch but when i started drawing it in the canvas i was like naaa. then i was thinking about an illustration i saw last week of  this kinda anime japanese girl with a yukata and a fox mask but when i was gonna start making a sketch inspired in that illustration i said naa. and thats how its been today :/ .

I think im gonna scan the sumi-e painting i've been making the last days and maybe upload them later :P.

In to a nother subject, i was listening to this band "world en girlfriend" i discover the band some months ago but its like one of those things when you think somethings cool, but you dont put a lot of attention to it and you just dont know why, and one day you just whant .. i dont know XD, but that happend to me with this band today and im gonna get the album or albums im not shure how many albums they have.

Now im listening to a nother band "sleepmakeswaves" pretty awesome to :3.

Relaxing with Sumi-e :3

since last friday ive been practising the little amount of sumi-e that i know, like painting bambu (its what i think im kinda best at). i like that its a very free style thing, it doesnt have to be perfect to have a nice efect, but of course that what i do is not even close of being as good like some of the work ive seen on the web, im just a noob here.

I've been really in a kinda sad mood lately and painting is kinda making things a little better, it keeps me doing something and focusing in something productive, and for some reason sumi-e has been something that makes me enter this relaxing mood. im looking at some tutorials and trying to learn and improve so i can make something decent, even if its not as easy as it looks, it has its technique that you just dont learn from one day to another, but its fun for me right now, and i like it , so ill keep on painting and probably upload something the next days when i paint something that i dont think its to bad XD.

Vintage Sankyo Music Box?

Some months ago i found this japanese music box in a kinda second hand store here in my town, at first i tought it wasnt that cool, but it was sheap and well i got it. at home i had more time to examine the box, and i was thinking that probably it was like 30 years old aprox. because the parts of the mechanism was all metal parts and the lock was kinda rusty and it was made for an old tipe of key etc. the tune that the box plays is kinda weird, its like 2 songs in one, the swans lake and a nother song on top, kinda weird, but that makes it more interesting for me.

So today i decided to investigate and see what i could find out of the company that made it and if i could find what year this music box really is (not exactly but something near), and i found some pages with information about a company from japan that started after WWII by the name os sankyo, and it said that most of the vintage music boxes from japan were made by this company, so im guessing this music box could be a sankyo...?

Strange little shop in Ensenada

This summer i went to Ensenada B.C. Mexico, it was a surprise for me to feel that awesome weather over there, its kinda small and doesnt have a lot of places to go, the hotel was close to everything and so i was very happy with that trip. One of the days i was over there i went to a place by the name "Bufadora", wich are this rocks where the waves crash and make a strange noise, i was kinda scared because it was high place and im such a scardy cat. in the way to that rocky place there is a long road full of shop's, with basically the same things, but one shop stand from the others, well not at first sight, because you dont see all the things in the shop from outside like the others, you could only see some of the stuff they had and they were not the most interesting things...but it was just my luck that i enter there, at first i saw some sea shells and snails, then as i was getting deeper i started looking at this strange things like baby sharks in some liquid in jars, dissected fish hanging from the roof, it was so big inside you just dont imagine its gonna be that big when you are outside and by the look of all the other shop's you just dont expect that. they had some weird kind of fish inside, and an old suit use to go deep in the ocean.

It was i think one of the most interesting things i saw in ensenada, i hope i go next year, and hide from the heat XD.

Cherry Blossom painting

I've been in the sumi-e painting mood lately, and watching tutorials and stuff i just got inspired to paint a cherry blossom trea, but with acrilics (im not very good with sumi-e at this moment), so i painted this and i think its ok, not the best but i like it, it was easy and it was a long time since i last painted something on a canvas... im happy with the result to be honest :3.

Nausicaa and Castle in the sky

It has been a while since i last saw a studio ghibli movie, and today i saw two of them, the first one was "nausicaa: of the valley of the wind", couldnt expect less from ghibli, it was awesome. the next one was "laputa:castle in the sky" this was kinda long, but it was a very cool movie.

I love the fact that you can see some things in the movies that relate them all, for example in the two movies i saw today a creature named "fox-squirrell" apeared. the design of the gadgets or vehicles, are very interesting and when you see them you know its a ghibli, the same goes for the character design, it has evolved with time,but the escense is the same, so you kinda look at this characters that have the old school anime escense, and i think thats adorable, the expresions everything it just makes you fall in love with them.

There is a lot of things i admire and love about studio ghibli movies, and still some more movies to watch and i know that each and every single one is a unique and awesome experience :3.

John William Waterhouse

 I cant remmemer when was the first time i saw a Waterhouse painting, i think it was more time then what i think, because when i think about it ive seen his work in a lot of places, books, movies, etc... and it wasnt till like 5 years ago when i knew his name, i saw his work and knew what artistic movement he was in, in art history class, but like i said 5 years ago i really got interested on him, and fell in love with his work.

Everything from the color palette, to the feemale bodys, the themes.. i think thats what attracted me more than anything from his work, the themes, most of them about myths, like nymphs, characters from myths or books. The first painting that caught my eye was a painting of Ophelia a character from Hamlet, i just adore everything from this painting, the expresion, colors, her posture floating on the water, its just so amazing for me.

I step upon more facinating paintings, an example of a nother painting i love is "Hylas and Nymphs", and plenty more.

Im thinking of searching a book of his work soon and adding it to my collection, hope i find it at a good price ;3.

Rain and DIY

Its was a "normal"day in my town, until it started like raining, but not the kind of rain we get here in the desert, cuz it rains here 1 or 2 times a year if we are lucky, but today i can consider this a storm! it didnt last long and i think nothing bad happend, but the wind and rain and all that stuff was like the bigest one we have had in a long time... so at first like all desert people not use to seing rain, i was close to my window and just watching and listening to The Cure "lullaby" cuz i just feel like listening to that song every time it rains dont know why, its just a thing of mine i guess XD.

So im sitting on the flor just watching the rain, cheesecake (my cats baby kitten) was playing with a plastic bag, and im just relaxing, enjoying the storm, till it kinda calm a little bit, and i desided to make some DIY things i wanted to do some time ago, like fix a t-shirt i have and finally made  the shirt neck with studs, its not perfect but oh well, im thinking of making the rest of the shirt a skirt, i saw this image on a DIY page and i just like how it looks, but i think im gonna need my moms help for this one.

I went shopping yesterday and i found the most adorable 20s style shoes/boots kinda has a victorian feel, so i might use them for my steampunk outfit im getting together :3....

Joel Levy: Fabulous Creatures and Other Magical Beings

Its been, 10 years since i saw this book for the first and only time. i was in college, i went to a book store with my brother, and there it was, the cover was like taken from a witch spell book, inside a lot of pictures of magical and mythical beings, i was in love, but it was 300 pesos, and i only had 100 in my pocket, and i said good bye. sounds like a sad love story XD... but years after that i remmember it and search it on google, till one day i found it, the cover was diferent, but the content was the same, and now im thinking of buying it, wich i will very soon.

Ithink that my obsecion with this book is because when i was kid i had a book of mythical beings, with old paintings of unicorns, dragons and other creatures, i was in love with that book and i just dont know what happend to it, so now i whant to recover a little bith of my childhood by buyng this book, and make a new addition to my collection ;).

tobi is obito!!

Its been crazy the last 2 weeks for all naruto fans (or narutards as some call us), the identity of Tobi is finally revealed!, his name is Obito, yes, obito... i just couldt beleave it! i was like Kishimoto are you playing with our minds? XD, for years, since Tobi appeared in the manga as a chaaracter with some importance to the story, fans have been making up theories of WHO IS TOBI? the most popular one, and personally i tought didnt have sence was that tobi was obito, but 2 weeks ago, proved a lot of us wrong, and a bunch of other people right.

Now that we all know who tobi is, we all are intrigued about why is obito doing this, how did he survived, how did he becamed so powerfull, and WHY is he now a villain??? some stuff has been said about why is he doing all that... but we will not know, for now we have to wait...

Im not following the manga, only watching the anime, but this obito-tobi thing was a big deal and everibody knows, fans that follow the anime have been spoiled by all the other fans that follow the manga, a lot were angry at that. in my case i dont care as long as the story is cool, im ok with spoilers, i actually have a friend that tells me all the good stuff that happens in the manga and i told him to call me when he knew who tobi was XD, i am not ashamed!

Burton Style Drawings

So first i have the drawing i made of my friend and then i have one of this couple that wanted a burton style drawing of them after they saw the one i made for my friend.

Im not saying that my drawings are totally tim burton style because i know that only he can do that, its his style after all, but i can say that is an inspired work, and i just did it for fun so, its ok right ....

Basically this idea of burton style drawings was inspired by a tumblr user that is very popular right now, his making this pokemon burton style illustrations that are very awesome, im gonna put his link here so who ever reads this blog can take a look at his work :) http://hatboy.tumblr.com/

Edward Gorey: The Gashlycrumb Tinies

This is a book iven wanted to have for a looong time!, or just one book of gorey, im a big fan of his work, love it, and i really was like, ok i need one, just one! and finally i got it!... so its "the gashlycrumb tinies" and this illustrations i adore, the concept everything. when i got the book in my hand i thought it was so awesome because the book is small kinda look like for a child, i just love it :)

Im also in the lookout for tim burton books ith illustrations, and im saying this because i think that their styles are very similar, well burton's style is similar to gorey's, not shure if inspired, but i just thought i should mention it in this blog about gorey's work.

i will be uploading some drawings ive been making the last days with the kinda burton style, inspired by a friend who made this drawing of me in tim burton style, and i just wanted to give it a try and made a drawing of my friend and thats how i got started XD...

Haruki Murakami: After Dark

just finished reading haruki murakami's "after dark"... didnt have anything in mind what to expect of the book, because ive had never read anything from murakami, i just went to the book store ask for japanese horror writer like edogawa rampo and the lady told me about murakami and banana yoshimoto, there were a lot of books from the two writers and i just pick one from each one and a big book of remedio varo paintings (wich i love). so i started reading murakami first and its been more then a month after that and for various things i didnt read for the past 3 weeks, but today i finally got to read the whole book. now my opinion from the book, im keeping like every thing i ever say about a book or a painting or what ever, as just my opinion not like i have the absolute truth. i did like the book, had some weird stuff i thought was cool, but i think that posibly because i was expecting some kind of maybe a little suspence, i didnt dig it a LOT but i did enjoy it, if i didnt i would have never finish reading it. since i like japan for all the anime scene and traditions, this book was appealing to me, because the book contains a big escense of japan, the way of life people have there at night, i found out some new things i didnt know, and it was very interesting, with a touch of weirdness.

so now that i read it, im gonna start or i have to say i started (im in chapter 2) of the book "miss peregrine's home for pecliar children". i found out about this book about some months ago, i got it in pdf, but im just not good reading on my laptop or any device, and that is kind of a big book so i just had to have it, baught it on ebay, and i got it about 3 weeks ago i think, but i was waiting to finish after dark first. so like 2 or 1 week ago some posted on facebook in a group i made (about creepy and weird things) this book on pdf, this motivated me to finish alfter dark and start reading miss peregrine's. and i have read on the web that tim burton is tinking of making an adaptation of the book to a movie, wich i think its brilliant! i hope the rumor is true....
